Thank you for posting such a touching tribute to a wonderful woman. She raised a wonderful family – Ehrliche Yidden, Ballei Chesed and Bnei Aliyah. Always smiling – always with a joyful little word of compliment. She will be missed.

Daniel Eliyahu Zacks was her brother, known as Elle Zacks. H lived in the Kfar.

Mrs. Hildesheim was of a generation that, b’gashmius, had almost nothing-often less than nothing, yet they appreciated everything. The selflessness and mesiras nefesh for Yiddishkeit that this noble woman had is hard to describe and hard to wrap one’s head around; mammosh incredible. Our generation has so much to learn from her. May she be a mailitz yosher for all of us.

Connection to Chabad & Moment with the Rebbe

Mrs. Hildshaim was raised in a Litvishe home but had close friendly connections with Chabad chassidim and their families, dating back to her youth in Russia and after that in Paris, and later on in Cleveland. In fact, some of her relatives ended up becoming Chabad chassidim! Her brother Elya Zaks was one of the early settlers in Kfar Chabad, as well as her first cousin Monye Schneur.
