Esther was a remarkable woman she embodied the finest qualities of a religious person and a true and down to earth Chosid of Lubavitch. I remember when I first came to Melbourne to learn in the Yeshiva Gedola , the home of Chaim and Esther was open 24/7 to every Jew, it was more than a Chabad House it was Chabad Lubavitch. The home invigorated everyone who entered. Words cannot do justice to the Family Sero, they influenced the lives of thousands of Yidden. Such people like Esther are extremely rare, now she is reunited in the upper realms with… Read more »

So very sorry to hear this tragic news and loss of Esther’s passing.
Esther, was a good neighbor of mine, for many years, when she lived
at 781. Eastern Parkway.
Wishing, all the Serebryanski, many, happy and healthy, long years.
So sorry to hear, baruch dayan haemes. Mrs Serebryanski obm was my mashoia for many years and spent much time guiding me on the phone with parenting questions and personal matters. She arranged to send her mishloach manos left overs to our family for a bunch of years and it made my children feel so happy! May she have the highest aliyas haneshama! Moshiach now!
I remember her giving shiurim to the ladies in 770 Ezras Noshim some many years ago. So wise and knowledgeable, yet so humble and unpretentious. משיח כאו בחסד וברחמים רבים
I was new to Lubavitch (but not to frumkeit), and I was so excited to meet Mrs. Sero. I couldn’t relate to the Russian women. They were kind, smart and wonderful, but they weren’t American. Different mentality. In Mrs. Sero I saw how also an American woman could be a great chassidiste: wise, kind, humorous, nonjudgmental, REAL. Thank you Mrs. Sero for the beautiful home you created, thank you for the beautiful children who are continuing your influence all over the world. Mrs. Sero’s daughter Miriam deserves a spotlight (even though she doesn’t want it) for her kibud em: having… Read more »
How does one even begin to describe Mrs. Serebryansky? For those of us who loved her, saw her יראת שמים, knew her devotion to the Rebbe, her brilliant mind, her love of Torah , her giant heart , her devotion to the Rebbe, her fierce and fiery love to her Beloved and Respected Husband, and to each and every one of her cherished children. Mrs. Sero was everyone’s Best Friend, including mine. There was not one subject, that she didn’t have expertise in, and lovingly gave advice in every matter, and cared about everything that was going on in your… Read more »
I’m so very sad. She was one of my mentors. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without having known dear, dear Esther. 😢😢 I spent many Shabbatot and Chagim sleeping over at the Serebryanski home in Melbourne, Australia; making the extra large Israeli salad for Esther every Shabbat and absorbing the open house environment they as a couple brought to the community. I could speak to Esther for hours, she was knowledgeable in various topics. Her sense of humour was legendary. Once when I was there, Esther told me that if Chaim rushed back from Shule and said… Read more »
Was a privilege to be invited to her very open home in melb. A true shlucha in so many ways. BDE

Esther Serebryanski was unique and remarkable. She was warm and wise and witty and clever and fun .She was accepting of all and non judgemental. Her house was literally open to all.You could walk in,sleep on a bench, help yourself from the fridge and receive her wise counsel. She greatly impacted the Melbourne community in so many ways and we were poorer when she left. Her family should be comforted and her memory should be a blessing.
