Mrs. Chana Zucker, matriarch of a large Chabad family, passed away on the 14th of Elul 5777 at the age of 91.
Today marks her Shloshim.
Mrs. Chana Zucker was born in Russia around 12 Tamuz 5686 (1926) to her parents Rabbi Shmuel Yitzchok and Alte Yehudis Raices.
She married her husband Rabbi Mordechai Zucker in the Poking, Germany Jewish refugee camp in 1947. Rebbetzin Chana, the Rebbe’s mother, was in attendance.
She later moved to New York in 1949 where she worked as a Mikva attendant for many years, while her husband was a Rov and gave a daf Yomi shiur for many years in a shul in East Flatbush.
She is survived by her children, Hershel Zucker, Scranton-Yerushalayim, Chaya Nechama Davidson, Detroit, Yossi Zucker, Crown Heights, Miriam Levitin, New York, Moshe Zucker, New York, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren including Shluchim.
She is also survived by her siblings Yosef Raices, Crown Heights, and Rivka Shechter, Florida.
She was predeceased by her siblings Elchanan (Chunye) Raices obm, Sara Kievman obm and Doba Tevel obm.
The burial took place in Jerusalem.
