Mrs. Chana Scharf, whose children were known for being cared for by the Rebbe after the passing of her husband, passed away on Thursday, 9 Sivan, 5785.
She was 67.
She was the daughter of Rabbi Yerachmiel and Dvora Blumenfeld obm, longtime Shluchim in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
After the passing of her husband Rabbi Avraham Shloime Scharf obm in 5750 (1989), the Rebbe took a personal interest in her children, ‘adopting’ the four young orphans. They were seen for years in 770, standing near the Rebbe during davening and Farbrengens.
She is survived by her children, Rochel Tenenboim – Destin, FL, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Scharf – Detroit, Rabbi Shmuel Chaim Scharf – Chicago, Rabbi Shalom Dovber Scharf – Chicago.
She is also survived by her brother, R’ Yossi Blumenfeld – Crown Heights.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Rabbi Yaakov Yisroel Blumenfeld obm and Rabbi Shneur Zalman Blumenfeld obm.
The Levaya will take place today, Thursday, passing by 770 at 3:30 PM and burial at Montefiore Cemetery at 4:30 PM.

The Rebbe’s kiruvim to her family deserve the entire crown heights community to show up.
She was a special lady that brought up her children as real chassidim as a Dugma Chaya. I remember how she used to always be in the front row with her daughter ( my she live and be well). I looked up at her , looking at her like Chana ,the mother of Shmuel, bringing her children to the Mishkan.
I’m sure she will be in the שורה ראשונה to greet Moshiach with Techiyas Hamaisim.

I met both the Father & the mom for a Shabbos meal.. They were very sweet people.
The video is so emotional.
May Hashem comfort the children but with the only real comfort by bringing Moshiach Now and re uniting these children with their mother and father.
Shmuel Chaim & Sholom Scharf will be in New York through Tuesday after Shacharis.
Then in Chicago from Tuesday evening.
