An overflowing crowd joined West Coast Chabad for a unity evening honoring the Rebbe on the eve of Gimmel Tammuz at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The theme of the event, marking 30 years since Gimmel Tammuz, was “Unite with Light to Bring Moshiach Now!”
The event coincided with the fifth yartzeit of Rabbi Tzemach Yehoshua Cunin, Shliach of the Rebbe, and director of Chabad of Century City.
The featured speaker was renowned Shliach, author, and lecturer Rabbi Shais Taub, who delivered a powerful address about the Rebbe’s continuing presence and leadership that deeply resonated with attendees. His words and stories of the Rebbe, filled with profound wisdom and heartfelt warmth, set the stage for an evening of deep reflection and inspiration.
Rabbi Boruch Shlomo Cunin, Head Shliach and Director of West Coast Chabad, and Rabbi Ezra Binyomin Schochet, Rosh Yeshiva and Dean of Yeshiva Ohr Elchonon Chabad, shared impactful messages of strength, unity, and redemption in these tumultuous times. Rabbi Chaim Nochum Cunin emceed the event.
Rabbi Meir Wilshansky commenced the evening with Tehillim. The premier of JEM’s new video, “The Ultimate Influencer,” released for Gimmel Tammuz this year, was shown at the event.
Mitchell Silk, former Assistant Secretary of the United States Treasury, recounted a transformative journey to Hong Kong that he embarked upon following the Rebbe’s blessing. His narrative of personal growth and professional achievement underscored the theme of the Rebbe’s guidance and spiritual influence in one’s life journey.
Adi Abergel, an Israeli war hero undergoing medical treatment in Los Angeles, offered a solemn tribute to fallen comrades from his special forces unit. Leading the assembly in reciting Tehillim for the safety, protection, and victory of the people of Israel, Abergel’s presence and words honored the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
In a heart-stirring evening highlight, Rabbi Moshe Bitan, Shliach at Chabad Persian Youth, and Rabbi Shalom Eagle, Shliach at Pepperdine University, captivated the audience with their musical performance as they showcased their musical talents in a harmonious duet. Their performance entertained and uplifted spirits, weaving melodies of the Rebbe that echoed the event’s themes of unity, hope, and redemption.
