Rabbi Asi Spiegel of University of Oregon made Havdalah, which led to spontaneous joyful dancing, culminating an inspiring Shabbos. Power band Yood and special guest rocker Peter Himmelman entertained the crowd. Rabbi Shmuel Posner from Boston University farbrenged until the wee hours of the morning.

I thought matisyahu was supposed to play?!?!
What a beatufiul Peulah!
I know firsthand how hard they worked on this event!!!!
Lubavitch does beautiful things!
The rebbe is proud!!
was is eavrything sooooooo COOL.
sure, they meet real Chabad families with real chassidishe flavor. They have farbrengens. Meet thought provoking young (and not so young) men. But you cant take pictures of Shabbos. This is the motzei shabbos concert, where they meet simcha and chayus and they joy of Chassidim. This, also, is what speaks to them.
Kids nowadays need a lot more to interest them, chabad has to be more in tune to that – be more hip, more understanding of what is going on in the world. In order to reach out you have to understand who you are talking to, what they are about, what attracts them. Otherwise they would not be interested.
Try to look at the positive, you’ll be a happier person for it.
If you attempted to approach todays students with methods of 40 years ago, you would end up with a room full of Chassidim and empty of students. When Rabbi manis and Kasriel were doing what they did at university, it was thought of as just as radical to the chassidim of the times – but was very strongly supported and encouraged by the Rebbe. Good work Chabad on campus!! Keep it up!!
Is this what used to be called Pegisha with Chabad? Well if so, things have have changed since I went to one forty years ago and met thoughtful young men like Manis Friedman (then unmarried) and the organizer Kastriel Kastel. We met real Chassisic families who lived the Chabad traditions and saw the Shabbos farbringen with the Rebbi. I felt I had stepped off the World and entered something different and better. Can the same be said today? I would like to know.
looks like a lot of fun! great work Chabad on Campus!!
