Summer Mesivta Program RCA announces Head Staff – expanded Program/Initiatives involving NJ shluchim plus increased enrollments.
In preparing for the summer of 2012, the Rabbinical College of America in the New Jersey town of Morristown has decided to utilize its close proximity to many Chabad Houses for mutual advantage.
Its Yeshivas Kayitz for Mesivta bochurim known as SMP (Summer Mesivta Program) will be incorporating local Chabad Shluchim to be part of the teaching and regular guests for lectures and farbrengens.
Each week, another Shliach will act as a scholar-in-residence, equally spending his time on giving a shiur, lead a farbrengen and be part of the teaching staff.
And on weekends, the 16 and 17 year-old boys will be traveling to Chabad Houses around the state for Shabbos, bringing energy and warmth to local Jewish communities and experiencing Shlichus first-hand.
The Summer Mesivta Program is directed by Rabbi Shalom Spalter (Menahel) and is joined by many of the faculty from Tomchei Temimim as well as qualified older Bochurim.
“We are truly privileged to have a program where the students/bochurim will be able to benefit from the experienced Hanholo, energized shluchim and older respected bochurim,” stated Rabbi Spalter.
Students will also benefit by beginning to learn at the beis medresh level, while enjoying newly constructed dorms with central air conditioning, gourmet cooking, upgraded sports fields and pool, exciting trips and more.
Due to the success of previous years, and higher demand, Summer Mesivta Program has opened up an additional 25 spaces.

hi
I can only agree with #4 it was to most amizing summer I ever had’ the Shiurim both in Niglah and in Chasiduss were great’ the chasidishe aound an Avirah was outstanding’ the trips were great and I can go on and on.
i was there for 2 summers and can attest that its an amazing program and great place to spend a summer, i believe the reason for the “revamping ” stems from the below average amount of bochrim in the program last year, which most probobly ensued as a result of many yeshivos opening up their own yeshivas kayitz, such as new haven, as well as others, such as hawaii, costa rica, ect. unfortunatly then it was a shame for morristown, which when i attended had app. 45-50 bochrim, in stark contrast to last summer where they only had 20. however… Read more »
