Over the past few weeks, the 7th and 8th-grade students of Cheder Chabad of Monsey have been working on their “avoda shebelev.”
Early mornings, before the daily minyan starts, the boys gather to study Chassidus with Menahel Rabbi Levi Kaplan.
The boys are treated to mezonos and hot cocoa as Rabbi Kaplan teaches the Maamer “V’yached L’voveinu” from the Frierdiker Rebbe focusing on the importance of Tefillah.
The boys then worked hard to put extra effort into their Davening. They were encouraged to sit quietly throughout davening, behave with proper Derech Eretz, and look into their siddurim while saying the words. The boys who accomplished this were rewarded with an amazing ski trip which included ski instruction.
“The boys came back energized, enthusiastic, and ready to keep working on their Tefillah,” Rabbi Kaplan said.
The details for the next initiative and trip will be announced shortly, he said.
“We are extremely proud of our bochurim and look forward to their continued growth and hatzlocho in their avodas hatefilah,” Rabbi Kaplan said.
Rabbis Gershon Sandler and Zalmen Teitelbaum were thanked for chaperoning the trip.
