Is the event for men and women both?
Only men
Article says both men and women
Are a large percentage of candidates from 1 shul? How is this going to help/ affect the crown heights community at large?
I don’t love it myself, but only eight people signed up as candidates.
why didn’t you sign up and get others to sign up?
This is a sad and pathetic attempt at doing anything. These guys know nothing about anything
I wish them luck
Why didn’t you sign up to run and get others to run. only voicing you opinion on this platform and starting to complain. at least these candidates are to trying to make a change.
until now were they helping?
there is 2 jobs of the vaad hakahol
1.work with the politicians to get what the community needs
2.work with the community to get what the community needs
if they did both then maybe people will be happy with what the cc is doing
until now they did the first, maybe these people do not know as much how to get the politicians as much, they will eventually learn but they want the community to be heard as well not only the politicians
That type of comment is a reflection of your own feelings of negativity inside. Wishing you healing✨️
I thought the same thing. It’s nice that the group of 5 is a chevra, but there is a lack of age and experience diversity among them.
I would love to hear what are the candidates thoughts in the non vital Brooklyn project ! This monster sized shelter is going to ruin whatever is left if the community . Many young families are buying houses down Albany as this is one of the last frontiers ! Our neighbors are asking ,” where is your community?!” Even they know this is madness !
Please explain the details of this project and the associated issues, most people are unaware.
It is important that the voter turn out me sizeable.
There is a mix of older experience and youthful enthusiasm.
Everyone should take a positive approach, this is part of a healthy democratic process.
eligible to vote if they are Jewish male resident of Crown Heights who is either married, previously married, or is at least 30 years old.
In 14 years we haven’t raised the bar to allow women to vote? Ridiculous
Maybe allowing women to vote would be lowering the bar???
Only men can vote?
Who’s representing the women who don’t have a husband? ?????
Their brothers, their father and there to be husband
That’s pretty presumptuous of you to think everyone here in CH has a father and brother who can vote on their behalf. I’m divorced, my father is dead and my brothers don’t like local. So again who’s representing my opinion and the opinion of so many like me.
The 70 yr old Shul at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center (“KJMC”) was locked out during the COVID Emergency Orders, which have long since expired. Under Vital Brooklyn’s, KJMC will open the door to bring in Catholic Charities and more homeless. The good news is the homeless will now have a roof over their head at KJMC. The bad news is the Kingsbrook Jewish shul is now homeless after being locked out and is constructively evicted. ( There is a room in the hospital that functions as a Muslim prayer room, but nothing for the Jews who the hospital is named… Read more »
