A source of warmth in the dead of winter. This is what we molDOva.
Moldova sits as the poorest country in Europe. Since the onset of the tragic war in Ukraine, hundreds of thousands of refugees have fled to Moldova, their lives thrown into uncertainty, not knowing how long they will stay or if they will ever be able to return home.
Through tireless effort, Chabad of Moldova has enlarged our centers, in turn increasing our food distribution, programming, and support groups to those who need it most.
We’ve been on hand to provide assistance for the refugees, opening our doors and hearts to thousands, and providing them with warm meals, shelter and emotional support.
Now, with the freezing winter and increased prices of gas, we face a new set of challenges. The residents and refugees in Moldova are freezing, and cannot afford to pay the steep price of heating. Winter in Moldova without heat is not survivable.
We turn to you with an urgent appeal, to help us assist our community, including hundreds of Ukrainian refugees, to heat their homes and survive the winter, as well as helping us to continue providing food and shelter for those who need it.
These people need us – we must be there to provide for them!

I was a counselor 30 years ago for Rabbi Zalman and his rebbitzen and the memories never leave me. tzaddikim with strong mesiros nefesh and i understand the rebbitzen is still there doing amazing work. i give my tzedakah to moldova and recommend alumni counsellors boys and girls and others to give as well. dollars re stretched and well used there.
