Vaccine maker Moderna believes people who received two doses of its COVID-19 vaccine will need a third dose before winter as a booster shot.
The company said Thursday it is also working on a single shot that would provide an annual booster for COVID-19, as well as flu and the respiratory condition RSV.
“We believe that increased force of infection resulting from Delta, non-pharmaceutical intervention (NPI) fatigue, and seasonal effects (moving indoors) will lead to an increase of breakthrough infections in vaccinated individuals,” the company said in an investor presentation posted to its website.
Moderna said early-stage testing showed its booster candidate was effective against COVID variants of concern, including delta.

The Rebbe said that we should follow the advice of the medical community and if the medical community advises getting a 3rd (like they’re advising getting 2 now) then every Chosid should do it regardless if it gets them into a restaurant or not.
You know that there are varying views from doctors especially in regards to those under 30, whether to get the vaccine.
The thing is that their views are blocked from the public, because of their not going with the media’s democratic political opinions.
Hashem should grant wisdom so that people should hear the whole story, all the medical information, and be able to make an informed decision not based on political rhetoric.
The medical community are under tremendous pressure. Their livelihoods and even lives are at real risk. It is a question of health versus parnoso. Do they want to take un unknown risk of a chronic condition that may take years off their life, or on the other hand lose their licences, profession, money, family, and friends.
These medical professionals , Physicians in particular have NO right to inject others with a product they wont legitimacy take themselves or administer to their loved ones! PERIOD! They should remember after 120 its Hashem they will answer to not the local Health dept, medical boards or insurance companies. Fear of parnassa loss is NOT a reason supported by halacha! Additionally they should stop withholding life saving interventions like ivermectin to their patients ! Write medical exemptions to their patients when they KNOW its justified and in general start behaving like shomer mitzvah yidden they claim to be!
This Washington Post article states that “vaccinated people may spread the virus” and that in “highly vaccinated Singapore … 75 percent of new infections reportedly occur in people who are partially and fully vaccinated.” What didn’t work after 2 doses is magically going to work after a 3rd? Variants are going to keep on being ahead of the game, because that’s how organisms work: they evolve. Thank goodness I didn’t get the first shot. They can even come out with 10 shots and not be satisfied. It reminds me of the government imposing on the children to get tested during school, last year,( otherwise due to funding the school would have to close), which was totally insane.
Why is it so crazy to have to get a booster shot?
We get a flu shot every year, we get a tetanus shot every several years… this is normal.
We require children to get vaccinated in schools because parents want their children to be safe.
America needs to require adults to get the covid vaccine. The government should start charging individuals who aren’t vaccinated, or taking money out of their healthcare. If an adult who chose not to get vaccinated shows up at the hospital sick with covid, their care shouldn’t be covered.
Maybe some people get the shots you speak of but not a lot of people I know, dont. Children to feel safe in schools because they are vaccinated? I said tested last year, not vaccinated. Maybe your child needs it but a lot of parents disagreed. Personally I dont need my child to start getting brainwashed and thus effecting his mental health ( by getting tested daily or vaccinated) that hes “sick” when b”h he’s very healthy! And there was an outbreak of measles among the Jewish communities in Brooklyn. A horrible disease that can have lifetime complications that was almost entirely eradicated thanks to the vaccines. It came back because parents didn’t want to give it to their kids and the children got the disease instead. Vaccines are preventative medicine. When someone gets a vaccine it’s to MAINTAIN health.
Ask your doctor. Not some doctor you found on Fox news that says you.dont need the vaccine.
