With Panama City still under high levels of lockdown due to the Covid pandemic, the local Jewish community had very low expectations for a joyful Purim celebration, especially for their children and the many who remain isolated at home.
After much planning, Shluchim Shlomo Nissim Poliwoda and Esther Kamhaji prepared a full plan in order to help people perform the Mitzvos of Purim in a safe manner, as well as uplifting their spirits.
With the assistance of the bochurim Ber Chaim Arcusin and Mendy Lapidus, a Mitzva tank traveled around the city, visiting building after building, distributing hundreds of shalach manos, playing joyful music, and reading the Megillah and delivering meals to seniors for the Purim seudah.
“Boruch Hashem, it was a great success and the community really appreciated all of the effort,” the Shluchim said.
