Iran opened the week on Sunday morning with a large-scale missile assault across the State of Israel, launching rockets from the north to the south in an attempt to inflict destruction and civilian casualties. The attack followed a joint U.S.-Israel operation that reportedly targeted and destroyed Iran’s nuclear facilities.
As part of the ongoing response, Magen David Adom (MDA) reported that 16 individuals were treated and evacuated to hospitals. Among them was one man, approximately 30 years old, who suffered moderate injuries from shrapnel to his upper body. An additional 15 people sustained light injuries from shrapnel and blunt trauma. MDA teams continued to survey additional impact zones.
United Hatzalah added that around 20 people were treated across central and northern Israel—most in light condition, some in moderate. United Hatzalah’s Psychotrauma and Crisis Response Unit provided emotional support to individuals suffering from shock.
Despite approximately 10 direct rocket hits across the country in the latest barrage, Baruch Hashem, there were no fatalities. Residents are urged to safeguard their lives and enter protected shelters in accordance with instructions from the Home Front Command.
Later in the day, President Isaac Herzog arrived at one of the rocket impact sites in Tel Aviv, where he met with rescue personnel and local officials, including Mayor Ron Huldai. Earlier, he had visited the impact zone in Bnei Brak with Mayor Chanoch Zeibert.
Standing at the scene of destruction, President Herzog remarked:
“When you see the magnitude of the damage, you realize how dangerous a missile like this is. It scatters in all directions and causes immense destruction. But once again, we have seen that following the Home Front Command’s directives truly saves lives.
“We are in the midst of a serious conflict. Last night, President Trump made a historic decision—one that will undeniably alter the future of the Middle East. It was a bold and vital step to remove from us, the region, and the entire world a nuclear threat—the gravest existential danger facing humanity.
“I commend this courageous act from the bottom of my heart. I thank Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his leadership and his close cooperation with President Trump. I also extend my deep appreciation to the IDF, American forces, and all members of the intelligence and defense services who played a role.”
The President added a somber note regarding the return of three kidnapped Israelis whose bodies were recovered in a daring joint operation:
“This morning we received more painful news: the return for burial in Israel of three Israeli heroes kidnapped on October 7—First Sergeant Shai Levinson, Yonatan Samarano, and Ofra Keidar, Hashem yikom damam. Israel must continue to keep the issue of returning the hostages at the top of its national priorities.
“We are living through historic days, but beyond the history are the lives of everyday people—residents whose homes were destroyed, whose lives were upended. But they are alive, and that is what matters most. I know the authorities will care for them.
“I embrace and strengthen the people of Israel in these trying times, and thank the United States of America and our security forces. May we merit to see better days ahead—for our region and for our people.”
