The Chabad Lubavitch Jewish Center of Playa Del Carmen in Mexico has begun a capital campaign to build a new and first Mikvah in the known resort city.
And they are already moving forward on the plans.
Last week, renowned mikvah expert Rabbi Gershon Grossbaum arrived in town to oversee the beginning of the construction work as he does in his travels around the world.
He was greeted by the local Shliach Rabbi Mendel Goldberg and the design and architecture teams to further the project.
The deadline for the completion of the building was set for Pesach 5773.
“During the Pesach season we have many Jewish families that flock to Playa to celebrate the Yom Tov,” explained Shlucha Mrs. Chaya Goldberg. “We can see as many as 40 people a day.”
Rabbi Goldberg added that with Playa becoming a growing vacation spot, the Mikva will be in constant use all year round.

Rabbi G helped build our shul and Mikvah. His guidance, advice and review throughout the design and construction project helped us focus on what we need, get what we want and envision the details of our project to completion. Even our architects and engineers were amazed.
Absolutely a must for any large or small project! Thank you Rabbi G!!
