A festive Menorah car parade and grand public lighting brought Chanukah spirit to Rockland County, NY on Sunday night, as hundreds of families joined a joyful celebration across Monsey and beyond.
More than 200 vehicles participated in a large Menorah parade that wound through Monsey, drawing residents of all backgrounds to their windows and doorsteps to watch and celebrate. Families lined the streets, waving and singing along as the illuminated cars passed by.
The evening culminated with a grand Menorah lighting at the Palisades Center Mall, where close to 1,000 people gathered for a lively program. Students of Mesivta Lubavitch Monsey attended together with their rabbeim, and the event featured spirited dancing, music, and entertainment, including a magician for the children.
The program was arranged by the Shluchim of Mesivta Lubavitch Monsey, who worked to ensure an uplifting Chanukah experience for the entire community.
Entertainer Joshey K, who performed at the event, said he was deeply inspired by the atmosphere. “After seeing this,” he shared, “I’m going to light my Menorah when I get home.”
The celebration reflected the unity and light of Chanukah, as Jews of all ages and backgrounds came together to publicize the miracle.
