200 people gathered Tuesday evening to celebrate Chanukah, and to watch the lighting of a giant 9 foot Menorah at the Deptford Mall in Gloucester County, NJ.
The event, sponsored by Chabad of Gloucester County in conjunction with the mall, featured a balloon clown for the kids, music, dancing, and of course
the traditional Chanukah foods – delicious latkes and Jelly doughnuts.
As a part of the celebration, Chabad made customized flashlights for each participant.
“The idea of the flashlights is that each and every person must add
their little light to the world,” said Rabbi Avi Richler, director of Chabad of Gloucester and organizer of the event. “This is the message of the Menorah – that even a tiny bit of light can dispel much darkness.”

Ave and Mina really exemplify what it is to be a shliach in yehupitz, a place where there is hardly any yiddishkeit!
