On Sunday, the second annual Public Menorah Lighting in Kanata (a suburb of Ottawa) took place, dedicated to the blessed memory of Rabbi Mordechai Berger OBM, the first shliach of the Rebbe to Ottawa, who helped organize and participated at first annual Menorah lighting.
A Menorah Parade then drove out from Kanata to Parliament Hill.
In attendance were Rabbi Michoel Gershzon-Jewish Russian Educational Center of Ottawa “ACHEINU”, Rabbi Chaim Mendelsohn- Chabad of Centrepointe, Rabbi Chaim Boyarsky CSN Ottawa and City Councillior Marianne Wilkinson.

last year he was giving a shiur, and ran before the shiur to be in Kanata, because the Russian Shliach Rabbi Gerzshon, asked him to come and speak, he was a dynamite speaker, everyone who heard him loved him, he was so full of knowledge, and humility and always besever ponim yofos, we miss him, but we know he is up there with all the holy people, and we will be reunited with all our loved ones bekorov mamash.
