A new Menorah has been approved by the New York City Parks Department to be stationed outside New York’s City Hall, bringing the light and joy of Chanukah and its message of freedom to the thousands who pass by daily.
The electric Menorah was set up for the duration of the Chanukah holiday in memory of Ari Halberstam, who was murdered in a terrorist shooting attack in 1994 at this very intersection, at the entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge.
The Menorah was made possible through the hard work of Mrs. Devorah Halberstam, Ari’s mother, an honorary NYPD Commissioner who worked tirelessly with city officials to place the Menorah at this central and distinguished location.
Another Menorah in memory Ari stands outside Borough Hall in Brooklyn, co-organized with Chabad of Brooklyn Heights and sponsored by Angelic Group: Condo and Townhome Sales.
The Menorah was arranged by Chabad Air and sponsored by Kamin Health.

This is awesome!
A shining light
We miss you Ari!!
