As winter draws on, some might be counting down the days until the end of the school year. Instead, many Mechanchos are taking the opportunity to recharge and hone their skills through the Menachem Education Foundation’s new series of winter webinars.
Catering to every role, subject and grade level, these webinars provide Mechanchos with the opportunity to learn new tools and reinforce old ones. A five star line-up of experienced presenters will lead these fully interactive sessions, including these:
- For preschool, Mrs. Chanie Feldman will present a webinar on “Skill vs Will” – what drives children’s behavior, and how to address challenging behavior. (Wednesday, Feb. 26 – ר”ח אדר) Mrs. Feldman is an experienced early childhood educator and educational consultant, and participants in her workshops have found them to be both engaging and impactful.
- For junior high and high school, Mrs. Hindy Kalmenson will talk about “Bringing Torah Learning to Life” through the use of creative projects and diverse modalities. (Wednesday, Jan. 29 – ג’ שבט) “In each project, I found so much that I could learn from,” wrote one of Mrs. Kalmenson’s students from her decades of teaching this way. “I know that the lessons will stay with me.”
- For all grade levels and subjects, Dr. Sara Rosenfeld is leading a comprehensive, six part webinar series on “Planning Your Curriculum with the End in Mind.” This course will guide teachers and school leaders in planning a complete curriculum or unit, in a way that places their goals for their students front and center. The series begins this Monday, Jan. 6 – ט’ טבת, and concludes March 2 – ו’ אדר (with a break in the middle for implementation and feedback).
Teachers and principals have already begun signing up for these courses, from throughout the United States and beyond. MEF educational director Mrs. Chanah Rose emphasizes the advantage to professional development during the school year: “The most impact takes place when you can implement what you’ve learned in the classroom, the very next day!”
