An enlightening and new podcast series has been launched in honor of the first yartzeit of Rabbi Yoel Kahn OBM, the esteemed Head Choizer of the Rebbe and Head Mashpia of the Central Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim – 770 Eastern Parkway.
The podcast series is a treasure trove of stories, parables, aphorisms and lessons collected from Reb Yoel’s many years of teaching and farbrenging with students etc.
Rabbi Yaakov Winner, a Mashpia in Yeshiva Gedolah of Melbourne, Australia, had the Z’chus to have spent time in Reb Yoel’s presence, absorbing and learning from him.
During this past year, Rabbi Winner shared many of these insights on a smaller scale through weekly voicenotes. Now, in honor of the Yartzeit these gems have been collected and are available and accessible to everyone.

These podcasts, which first came out as Whatsapp voice notes, are filled with such amazing stories and insights. Rabbi Winner describes the scenarios so vivid and clear. I sometimes feel like I am there at the Farbrengan with Reb Yoel or at the Shiur. The way Rabbi Winner describes which Niggunim they were singing when Reb Yoel was Farbrenging in the Sukka is so real and authentic. As a Shliach out in the field, I find these bite-size Chassidus golden nuggets mammosh fantastic! Both for myself, to get a quick-fix hit of Chassidus content of the real kind variety, the genuine article; and also for my Chabad House crowd there’s good material here for farbrengens & speeches etc.

I am so grateful for the efforts infused with energy and devotion that my chaver Reb Yaakov Winner has put into this inspiring and impactful “project”. I too have been accessing these snippets through the Whatsapp postings. Having it accessible on Spotify allows me to plug into these reflections and insights from Reb Yaakov in an easier and more organized fashion. Now I don’t have to hunt for it!
