In the spirit of Hakhel, all Chabad Rabbis of S. Paulo Brazil got together and organized the biggest Chanukah event ever in Brazil. The event was initiated by Rabbi Yossi Alpern.
7,800 people had a fun day at the newest park of the city, where philanthropist Mr. Meyer Nigri is building a new neighborhood, Jardim das Perdizes, for a Mega Chanukah event, this Sunday.
The biggest attraction was the 15 Food Trucks and Food Bikes serving different type of foods.
Honoring the event was congressman Mr. Floriano Pesaro who represented the Governor of the state of S. Paulo, that was supposed to come and because of bad weather couldn’t make it. Also in attendance was city councilman Mr. Ari Friedenbach
Also attending the event was the philanthropist Mr. Meyer Nigri who sponsored part of the event and lit the Public Menorah.
Shliach Rabbi Jacob Begun was honored to recite the Tehilim of the Rebbe and Rabbi Shmuly Perman read Tehilim for peace in Israel.
The shluchim that spoke at the event all spoke about the Year of Hakhel and how important is it to the Rebbe the unity of Chassidim.
