A Constant Connection
by Chana Tatik
A chossid
Me?
I think you got the wrong crowd
Keep on moving
I’m pretty sure you will find somewhere else what you are looking for
But Rebbe
You stayed with me
You waited with me
You smiled at me
You never stopped being my Shepard even though I didn’t want to be in your flock
You never stopped connecting with me even though I didn’t want a connection yet
You never saw me less than a diamond even when I saw myself as a rock
Now Rebbe
After acknowledging and noticing how you have been with me all these years, I want to connect with you
How I have spent so much time discussing and learning what you mean to me –
What you mean to my parents
What you mean to my friends
What you mean to my teachers
Rebbe, I would be honored to connect with you
It’s time I start digging the other road so we can finally have a two-way road connection
I am working, Rebbe
I am working really hard
And I know you see me
It’s a bit more difficult than I thought
For all this time I only got a taste of what it feels to be close to you
But with all this hard work I am finally getting a flavor
It’s just the beginning and I am looking forward to more guidance and learning from you than ever before
So yes, I am chossid
A very proud one too
I am in the right crowd
Please stay near me and teach me more about what I can do.

Don’t know who you are, but keep digging, keep connecting, you are amazing!… The Rebbe loves you, and remember you are a part of the greatest generation!
Knowing that the Rebbe is always there, patiently waiting for us to return.
Together with your dear amazing parents, sheyichyu, shepping nachas from you as we did since the day that you were born!
Keep learning, keep growing and keep giving us nachat!
Love,
The Metals from “President St. Days!”
