Due to the situation in the world, many residents of Crown Heights are finding themselves with free time and say to themselves, “I wish I had a Chavrusa – learning partner during this time so I could finish a complete ‘Masechta,’ a “Hemshech” in Chasidus, some “Sugyos” in Halacha, and more.”
To fulfill this need, the Beis Eliezer Yitzhak Shul, located at 394 Kingston Ave. (above Mikvah Meir), opened its doors for the residents of Crown Heights.
The Shul’s management is embarking on a new Mivtza, titled “Match Me a Chavrusa”, L’iluy Nishmas Rabbi Don Yoel Levy OBM, who served as the Shul’s Rov from its founding until his recent untimely passing.
Those interested in learning with a chavrusa during the evenings can contact Rabbi Kalman Weinfeld via WhatsApp at 347-515-3232 and he will do his utmost to match you with a chavrusa.
Starting from this Sunday, 20 Tammuz (July 12th), the Shul will be open for studies every evening at 8:30 pm, followed by Maariv at 9:15 pm.
After Maariv, a 10-minute shiur in Hilchos Beis Habechira will be held as per the instruction of the Rebbe.
Great initiative! Looking forward to joining when we are back from the summer
English or Hebrew?
This is every night Sunday- Thursday.
*They are copying our idea.*
In 5762 as the rebbe turned 100, that year 770 bouchrim got highly involved in CH.
And sent a presentable mailing to every home in CH + ads and articles to campaign “..For every lubavitcher to learn with a boucher one hour weekly IN 770…”
The name of the campaign was:
לבקר בהיכלו
It picked up amazingly.
Even the elderly man Chitrik at the time he was age 102 placed his own stamp & mailed his return card back to us to 770’s aderss.
Take it well 🙂
Here’s a wonderful initiative to get more people learning and having Ahavas yisroel and all you can comment is that they “copied” the idea?!
