Mrs. Margaret Plotke, a resident of Los Angeles and the matriarch of a large family, passed away on Tuesday, 18 Adar, 5781.
She was 90.
Margaret was known as an incredible mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and a loving and doting matriarch to her family of four children, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren KA”H.
Margaret was an extremely proud Jew who loved learning and exploring Yiddishkeit and felt a deep connection and pride as her she watched her family grow in Yiddishkeit and build beautiful families in the US and Israel.
Margaret was especially known for being a very positive person who would never be heard saying negative things about others or complaining. In addition, there was hardly an organization in her neighborhood that she was not involved in through volunteering or supporting their work.
Despite losing one of her own parents at the age of six years old, she seemed to only know of goodness and happiness. Together with her late husband Jerry who escaped from Nazi Germany in the beginning of the Second World War, they worked very hard and raised a beautiful and loving family.
Her biggest joy was seeing her family connect together and have meaningful relationships with each other, and to this end, she often arranged family get-togethers so that the growing family could maintain a strong connection.
She would never miss a Simcha and would travel across the world and the US for family weddings, Bar and Bas Mitzvahs and other occasions, several times a year until right before Corona hit.
Margaret is survived by her children Robert Plotke (Los Angeles), Elozor Plotke (Los Angeles), Gavriel Plotke (Seattle) and Chana Keleman (Israel) and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
