Nice try…
A black male hoping to walk into a bank in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood and leave with a nice sum of stolen money had his plans altered on Wednesday.
At approximately 3:00 PM, the man walked into the Chase Bank located at 1000 Nostrand Avenue, that is frequented by many locals, and passed the teller a note demanding money.
He wasn’t holding a weapon of any sort, so the teller refused and the person left.
Instead, he tried the Carver Federal Savings Bank located just across the street. He had better luck there, this time verbally demanding money in what the NYPD called “a threatening manner.”
The Carver bank teller handed over around around $2,400 in cash and the man fled the bank, but not for long.
With both Chase and Carver banks calling 911, police officers were quickly on the scene, following the good description they received from the tellers.
The description was broadcast and a patrol car spotted the male a few blocks away. The male was apprehended and all the money from Carver bank was recovered.
