A non-Jewish man is in critical condition after being shot twice in Crown Heights Saturday morning.
Police say they received a 911 call just before 5 a.m. They say they found a 48-year-old man with bullet wounds in the arm and torso. The man was transported to Kings Hospital.
A woman who lives down the block tells News 12 Brooklyn that she was not really surprised to hear about something like this happening near her home but that it is always alarming.
The victim, who lives on President Street off of Brooklyn Avenue, may have been shot by an individual who knows him, over a personal dispute, Police said.
unfortunately when we have a weak mayor that’s when crime goes up. if the mayor cares then we would not have these crimes going on.
what r u saying…!!?? the bad guys are either way gunna get guns…. the only defence is if WE get guns
We are not talking about renting jewish areas to Chinese but there are areas around crown heights near the park where Jews don’t live
Why would you say that. As it is we don’t have close to enough apartments for ourselves. What needs to change is for “undzerer” landlords not renting to “untz”.
You must change the neighborhood around you. Move in Chinese or yuppies. They did that in Boro park and it’s pretty quiet. Every jewish landlord from around prospect park should seek Chinese tenants by advertising in Chinese papers. Give them the rent a drop cheaper and you will have secure buildings and safer neighborhoods.
You are so right!!! We must declare crown heights as a safe space, and put up signs everywhere saying “this neighborhood is a gun free zone”
I don’t live in crown heights but when I come I’m always scared stiff because of all the things that go on and this proves how unsafe crown heights is and how story after story no-one does anything aout it SAFETY is a SERIOUS matter and it should be taken to action and not ignored!
KAN TZEEVA HASHEM ES HABROCHO!!
Sadly the council doesnt have to anything. proof is in the pooding, you’d be hard pressed to list any accomplishments qt all. I do gotta hand it them tho. They are very photogenic.
number 6 is right and its a disgrace!!
Guns are illegal in NYC, as is violence. I refuse to believe such things can happen and that bad guys can get guns!
The council must get a grant to place cameras
In the right places of our community.
Every home owner who can afford cameras
Is urged to get cameras.
Maybe someone in the business would offer
Discounts to home owners to get them
They are only interested in writing tickets to Jewish drivers
תתחלו לשים מצלמות מחוץ כל בעת
Moshiach now!
I guess it’s time for substantial photo ops in the next week or so.
This shooting, just like the mugging on empire blvd on friday, are in the HEART of our crown heights neighborhood! What is going on? what is our police precinct doing about this increase in crime?
