“Light Up Mamilla,” a project of Chabad of Talbiya-Mamilla organized by Shluchim Rabbi Eli and Chanie Canterman, was the number 8: above and beyond the regular.
A record number of people gathered night following night, to celebrate Jewish pride in the spirit of Chanukah. Even rain couldn’t keep the guests away.
The entire avenue danced and sang with famous artist singers, guests of honor, lively Mayanot Yeshiva boys and surprise appearances – all were introduced by the energetic and lively emcee Yossi Frankel.
Of course, one of the nights was dedicated to children of the Friendship Circle and those with special needs.
Over 8000 people witnessed the festivities of the Mamilla Menorah during Chanukah 2018-5779, as they become a yearly fixture on the Jerusalem calendar.
The amazing energy that one feels there carries you way longer than the eight days of Chanukah. So if you couldn’t make it this year then BeH, Next Year In Jerusalem. Well done Chani and Eliyahu.
Love seeing the photos of Chanukah at Mamilla each year! Although I am not in Israel, I feel the spirit through the photos and video and can tell how much joy is felt there! Keep up your amazing work of the Rebbe!
I have been there, an amazing kidush Lubavitch
Soo proud of my sister and brother in law for their incredible efforts all year round running Chabad Talbiya, Friendship Circle and especially their biggest debut of all, the most amazing Chanukah extravaganza, Lighting up Mamilla! We are blown away more and more each year, by the numbers of pple who turn out and the electric atmosphere of Simcha and Jewish unity that’s generated there! Kol hakovod Chanale and Eliyohu!
It’s really great to see so many Jews from all backgrounds together all enjoying the chanuka festival with one heart.
There is no one like Rabbi Eli and his Aishes Chayal
Chanale Canterman :
Their enthusiasm – love of every yid – knows No Bounds ! Who who else can put out such a massive Chagigah year – after year – every year – especially in the Holy City of ירושלים עיר הקודש !!
Proud to be your friends ( and your shabbis meals are the best as well )
Yitty and Eli Glaser
What a feeling of Simcha just seeing those thousands of ecstatic Yidden, young and old, basking in the light of the Menorah in pure joy
Go MeChayil el Chayil
