Rabbi Shimon Lemberger, known as the Makova Rov, was sitting in front of a flat screen video and what was being showed brought back cherished memories.
The Makova Rov, who is visiting New York from the Israeli northern township of Kiryat Ata, has paid a visit to the Rebbe‘s Ohel resting place at Old Montefiore Cemetery in Queens, Monday.
Upon entering the Ohel Chabad-Lubavitch visitors centers on Francis Lewis Blvd, Makova Rov sat alone writing a ‘pan’ note requesting blessings and watched the Rebbe speaking at a farbrengen.
It wasn’t a new sight for him. Whenever the Makova Rov would visit the United States, he would come to 770 Eastern Parkway and inconspicuously enter the main shul to hear the Rebbe share words of Torah and Chassidus.
His chassidim recall a time when the Rebbe’s mazkir Rabbi Leibel Groner, spotting the Makova Rov, would invite him to the dais. “I have come to see, not to be seen,” he answered with humility.
The Makova Rov was on his way back from a trip to Poland to the resting place of the Chassidic Rebbe, the “Noam Elimelech” in Lizhensk. In New York, he went with his entourage to the Queens to the Rebbe’s Ohel.
The Makova Rov merited to be in a Yechidus with the Rebbe in 5730 with his father Rabbi Moshe Nosson Note Lemberger, a Holocaust survivor who led the Chassidic group with shuls in Bnei Brak, Ashdod, Elad and Boro Park in New York. He also merited to have a private audience with the Rebbe in 5744.

During MOSHE’s leadership All Jews were “CHASSIDIM” of the ONLY ONE “REBBE” (Rosh Bnei Yisroel) “MOSHE RABBEINU” not of Aharon, Yehoshua or the other tribal leaders. They had “FOLLOWERS”,”STUDENTS” etc..
So to is it every generation. There is only ONE “REBBE” (see RASHI Parshah Vaeilech 31/7) and all of KLAL YISROEL are his “CHASSIDIM”.
