On Sunday, Erev Rosh Chodesh Tammuz, 14 bochurim from Yeshiva Ohr Elchonon Chabad in Los Angeles were tested on the entire Meseches Gittin Baal Beh.
This was a culmination of an initiative which began 6 months ago, inspired by a group of 11 bochurim in 1991 which merited to receive special dollars from the Rebbe for memorizing Meseches Gittin by heart.
Led by a group of Shluchim in yeshiva, the bochurim engaged in a rigorous regimen of learning, often studying into the wee hours of the morning, with tests at regular intervals throughout the course of the year on predetermined quotas.
On Sunday, the bochurim were tested on the entire Mesechta at once in a farher lasting close to 6 hours. Following the official farher, the bochurim were tested by a panel of prominent Rabbonim of the LA community led by the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Ezra Schochet, in a public forum, including Rabbi Menachem Krybus – Rosh Kolel, Rabbi Nechemia Langer – Rosh Mesivta, Rabbi Yochonon Henig – Mara D’asra of Los Angeles, Rabbi Amrom Farkash – Menahel of YOEC.
The bochurim displayed their mastery of the Mesechta in front of the entire yeshiva, and streamed for friends and family to watch from home.
The event was a great Kiddush Hashem and surely was a cause of nachas for the Rebbe.

I had two of them over at my shabbos meal last week and they would look at the table and tell each other where it says this food or dish in the mesachta they were shooting at each other different dafim, was unbelievable to witness. They knew the whole mesechta by heart.
The Last part of the test they had to say every place in gittin where it said a certain words. They knew all of them.
