Long Island Zal Completes Successful First Year

Bais Schneur, Long Island Zal is a Yeshiva for Bochurim ages 17-19 years old that focuses on personal relationships with the Bochurim in a climate of connection, honesty and trust. The Yeshiva is a place where they feel most comfortable and are able to bring out their best selves, without compromising on the learning and Chassidishkeit of a Lubavitcher Yeshiva of the highest caliber.

“Boruch Hashem, the first year has come along with an immeasurable amount of Hatzlocho,” the Hanholo says.

Within the strong learning in diverse and contemporary topics of Torah, the Bochurim chose classes which best suited them, in an elective based learning system.

The Chayus and atmosphere was filled with strong Farbrengens, Mivtzoim, Shabbatons, singing and dancing, and trips to the Ohel. The Yeshiva went on an unforgettable trip to Ukraine, visiting the Kvorim of the Rabbeim, where the Bochurim returned with renewed vigor and Chassidishe energy.

Our incredible Shluchim inspired Achdus amongst the Bochurim, Mivtzas and programs created by and for the Bochurim, and an overall upbeat, positive energy amongst all members of the Yeshiva.

With encouragement from the Hanholo, the Bochurim spent their breaks exercising, hiking, and playing sports to maintain physical health.

“Boruch Hashem, it has truly been a year to remember,” the Hanholo says. “Many of the Bochurim have pushed themselves further than they knew they could. They advanced in learning, personal Chassidisher development and building friendships with fellow Bochurim, Shluchim and Hanholo that will Be’H last a lifetime.”

As the year continues online, plans are underway for a move to a much larger facility, to cater to the many Bochurim that can benefit from Bais Schneur. This past year unfortunately, many Bochurim were turned down due to lack of space and we are determined this coming year to make sure that everyone will get the opportunity they deserve.
