The fifth and final night of the annual Simchas Beis Hashoeiva celebration with music and dancing in the streets of Crown Heights will take place tonight, Thursday.
The dancing will begin with a Children’s Program at 8:00 PM led by Rabbi Levi Goldstein and will continue with live music and dancing at 9:00 PM featuring music by Yossi Cohen and Berel Zuker.
The yearly dancing was instituted by the Rebbe and has been led for decades by Rabbi Yisroel Shemtov, who has once again ensured a nightly celebration over Chol Hamoed, featuring the biggest stars in Jewish music.
Last year, a new and improved set up and locations for men and women was set up, and remains in effect for this year as well.
The new location for women spectators and the bandstand will better accommodate the thousands who attend, in a more safe and organized manner.
Following an incident on Wednesday, the NYPD has informed that stunts like climbing on light poles or on rooftops, which some teenagers were seen doing during the dancing and celebrating, will not be tolerated and will be punished by law.
“We are informing the public that climbing of any light poles, rooftops or any other structures, is illegal and will be subject to arrest from NYPD,” Detective Mike Baratta of the NYPD 71st Precinct told COLlive.com.
Each night of Simchas Beis Hashoeva, thousands will join in the joyous dancing, with live music and guest singers. COLlive.com is providing exclusive live stream coverage of the nightly event.
