The annual NCFJE Lag BaOmer celebration will take place online this year, and will include highlights of the parades with the Rebbe and a virtual Jewish Trivia Game Show featuring many Jewish singing stars.
One of the central themes of Lag B’Omer is for children to go out to parks and fields to celebrate the great Yomtov. For over 75 years, NCFJE has arranged annual Lag B’Omer outings and parades.
Due to the current circumstances, this year it will unfortunately not be possible to gather in the park. However, NCFJE is making up for it by putting together the most innovative program to date! As Rabbi Shimon Hecht put it, “Over the last couple of months we have made our homes into Batei Kneisiyos and Batei Midrashos, surely we can also make them into a park to celebrate Lag B’Omer.”
Although we will be at home, we will be connected with the Kever of the Rashbi in Meiron and the Kosel via hook-up. Rabbis YY Jacobson and S.M. Rubashkin will join to give messages of inspiration to the children.
A carefully curated, gorgeous video of highlights from each of the 13 Lag B’Omer parades with the Rebbe will be shown FOR THE FIRST AND ONLY TIME at the rally.
Additionally, in a first-ever concept, the Jewish Trivia game show will be played featuring MBD, Avraham Fried, Benny Friedman, 8th Day, Uncle Moishy, Mitzvah Boulevard, Eli Marcus, Boruch Sholom, and more! The school with the most points will win a prize for every student in the school, tune in to see who will win!
The program will be broadcast live on COLlive at 12 pm on Lag B’Omer, Tuesday, May 12. Make sure to tune in with your family!
Followed by a float parade which will be on the streets following the virtual celebration from 1pm-4pm.
