Chances are you noticed the “Likkutei Sichos Wave” sweeping Lubavitch in recent years.
The Rebbe’s 39 volume set of edited Sichos, has since its inception in 5718 been a staple study in Jewish homes the world over.
However, the last few years have seen a renewed emphasis and excitement in Likkutei Sichos the likes of which have never been felt in Lubavitch for many years – and likely ever.
“Halikut” – Vaad Hatmimim’s Likkutei Sichos program has begun now for its third year, with unprecedented enthusiasm and greater participation.
A record 75% of Lubavitcher Bochurim in America between Shiur gimmel mesivta and shiur beis zal will be studying cheilek lamed of Likkutei Sichos this winter.
Unique in its learning regimen, Halikut is styled for the participants to come out knowing the full sefer virtually by heart, at the end of the four months taking a scrutinizing test on all of the material.
With the program doubling in size, the new Halikut handbook, and the unprecedented prize of Sichos Kodesh, Halikut’s impact is growing bigger and stronger, and organizers say this is just the beginning.
It is safe to conclude, that from Back to Basics to project Likkutei Sichos, from SIE’s new Likkutei sichos to Beis Rivka’s Chidon, there’s a very slim chance that you haven’t felt the wave. And if you’re having a hard time reaching your son in Yeshiva, chances are he’s been swept away by the Halikut current.
