A Chanukas Habayis and dedication event was held on Tuesday, Isru Chag Shavuos, for the newly renovated Lemaan Yilmedu Center in Crown Heights.
The center will be the base for all of Lemaan Yilmedu’s programs including the semicha – rabbinical ordination classes, Chosson training classes, as well as a planned women’s learning track.
Located in the former Nosson’s Shul on Empire Blvd, the center was dedicated to the memory of Rabbi Zushe Wilhelm OBM, founder of the Lemaan Yilmedu and a noted Talmid Chochom who passed away 6 months ago.
His brothers and brothers-in-law affixed the Mezuzah on the front door. Rabbi Yosef Braun, member of the Crown Heights Beis Din, addressed the event. He gave divrei Bracha and spoke about the importance of the center as well as the dedication of Rabbi Wilhelm to the study of Torah and to the Semicha program.
A video was shown, and one of Rabbi Wilhelm’s sons made a siyum in his memory.
Mrs. Esther Wilhelm unveiled the dedication plaque and spoke emotionally about her husband and thanked all those involved in Lemaan Yilmedu and its mission.
The emcee for the event was R’ Berel Shur, Rabbi Zushe Wilhelm’s son-in-law. Among the speakers were various rabbonim from Crown Heights and some who are visiting for Shavuos.
Hatzlacha!!
