While Nechama Laber was getting ready for the upcoming JGU Leadership Winter Retreat to take place at her new Chabad House in East Greenbush, NY, she found herself spending a week at the hospital with her baby Yosef Chaim.
Nechama is the mother of eleven children. She runs an organization jewishgirlsunite.com that is dedicated to empowering Jewish girls to bring light into the world.
Her world was changed when her baby was diagnosed with Down Syndrome.
She shares an important message of hope and inspiration. Watch the video and see how her baby made her see life in a new way and how he is already impacting others.
The theme at the JGU Winter Leadership Retreat will be “Creating Pearls” and through creativity and self-discovery girls ages 8-16 will discover the power they have to transform life’s irritations into pearls. Register at www.Jewishgirlsunite.com or call Nechama at 518.727.9581
Shalom Nechama Dina! The apple does not fall far from the tree… My husband and I were guests in your home 35-6 years ago, when you were a child. We merited to know your parents. They hosted us so specially in their warm Chassidic household in Crown Heights. We were shattered when we heard the news of your loss and learned Torah for your father’s soul. Yes definitely he has Nachas from you and yours and everything you do…
May you go from strength to strength in health and happiness, and help bring Moshiach Now!
I saw the baby before I saw the video and when I laid eyes on him I thought to myself that’s the most beautiful baby I’ve ever seen. Much nachos!
For sharing this beautiful inspiration…so meaningful to me…and wishing you continued strength and insight and shining your amazing light on our youth
Nechama that was so meaningful! What a great message!
So beautiful Nechama Dina. Your father is most certainly looking down and is so so proud.

If so….You were an inspiration even back then (when I met you in Montreal Sem).
May Hashem give you all the strength you need to continue all the good that you do for your family and community.
May the light of the Chanukah candles bring warmth and joy to all of Klal Yisrael.
Chanukah Sameach 🕎
Hes so cute!!
Your video is a reminder of the choices we have when challenges arise of playing the victim or a source of light and inspiration to others – Yosef Chaim is a gift to the world and so are you . May your life be filled with only goodness and light and may Yosef Chaim have only nissim in his life and keep smiling ad 120!
