LA Women Gather for Torah & Tea

On the evening of Monday, June 8th (21 Sivan), Bais Chaya Mushka of Los Angeles’s fourth floor dining room was transformed into a chic, French patisserie. Over two hundred mothers, grandmothers, and women from all sectors of LA’s Jewish community packed the room, decorated expertly in baby pink, black, and white by Mrs. Rivka Baitelman.

Torah and Tea, now in its second annual year, was an event put on by the Bais Chaya Mushka Mother’s Association, created as a way to connect with other women in the community, celebrate Jewish femininity, and learn some inspirational words of Torah.

Virtually every dessert imaginable was served, including individually customized French crepes, and all were accompanied by various teas, artesian iced coffee, and fruit. Mrs. Chanie Perelmutter was the program’s enthusiastic MC, and Mrs. Shaindy Jacobson, a Bais Chaya Mushka bubby, traveled all the way from New York to deliver a moving and inspirational speech about the power of paying it forward, and the little things that each of us can do in order to bring Moshiach speedily in our time.

Following the beautiful words, Bais Rebbe Junior High School’s sixth grade class debuted a moving original song and video presentation, honoring their beloved classmate, Chaya Spalter, Z”L.

The emotional evening ended on an exciting note with a fabulous raffle. The prizes included a gorgeous Mona sheitel, Samsung tablet computer, shopping spree at Sparkles & Suspenders Children’s Boutique, family photo shoot, and many more.
