Yud Gimmel Iyar marks the anniversary of the passing of R’ Yisroel Aryeh Leib obm, third son of the Rabbi and Mekubal R’ Levi Yitzchok and Rebbetzin Chana Schneersohn and brother of the Rebbe.
As every year, in honor of this day, Yagdil Torah, the organization which works continuously to develop Torah learning in our community, has produced a special Kovetz Limud with Mishnayos, selected stories, and rare correspondence of R’ Yisroel Aryeh Leib.
This year, Rabbi Levi Browd of Yagdil Torah coordinated a unique podcast option to listen along and learn the Mishnayos along with a clear and concise shiur given by Rabbi Mendel Yusewitz, an educator renowned for his daily Rambam, Gemora Sota and daily Chumash shiurim.
“We are certain this addition will make the learning of the Mishnayos [corresponding to the name of the baal hayartzait] far more enjoyable,” said Rabbi Browd.
R’ Yisroel Aryeh Leib was known by the Chassidim of his time for his unique genius, especially in explaining deep concepts in Chassidus thought. At times the Rebbe spoke of R’ Yisroel Aryeh Leib, revealing the deep connection between the Rebbe and his brother. Throughout the years, the Rebbe assisted in initiating and coordinating various projects in his memory. On Yud Gimmel Iyar, 5751 the Rebbe spoke an entire sicha expounding on the name of the Baal Hayahrtzeit.
