In the times of the Beis Hamikdosh, the early sages established that from 30 days before a Yomtov, the Rabbis should lecture about the halachos of that festival, the Shulchan Oruch HaRav states.
In later generations, when printed works of halocha became readily available, it is a mitzvah for each person to learn the laws of the festival before the festival, until he becomes expert in them and knows that which he has to do.
There are many halachos to learn before Pesach, especially the halachos of the Seder night. With busy lifestyles, it is not always easy to make the time to go through the halachos as Shulchan Oruch requires.
Kollel Menachem Lubavitch of Melbourne Australia has designed a special program to help you be able to learn all of the halachos of the Seder from the Alter Rebbe’s Shulchan Oruch (simon 472 – 481) in the 30 days before Pesach this year.
The halachos have been divided into daily units which can be studied in less than 15 minutes a day for 6 days a week. The program runs from Sunday 17th of Adar until Erev Pesach and can easily fit into your daily schedule.
You can learn the halachos on your own or with a chavrusa, listen to an audio shiur or joi if you live in Melbourne, you can join one of the daily shiurim taking place in the Kollel Menachem Community Beis Medrash.
The Kollel was established 33 years ago at the direction of the Rebbe by Head Shliach Rabbi Yitzchok Dovid Groner OBM. It serves as the division of Adult Education of the Yeshivah centre in Melbourne providing high-quality Torah learning opportunities to the community.
The kollel is headed by Rabbi Yonason Johnson, a talmid of Rabbi Gavriel Zinner of Boro Park who was appointed last year as the Rosh Hakollel, with Head Shliach Rabbi Chaim Tzvi Groner serving as the menahel of the Kollel.
Audio shiurim and copies of the daily halachos can be listened to or downloaded from kollelmenachem.com.au. The website will also feature weekly Chazora quizzes to help you review and remember the halachos with raffles and prizes.
Yagdil torah viyadir! Thanks you kollel menachem.
