Members of the editorial board and administration of Kehot Publication Society met this week to discuss further growth.
The meeting took place in the 788 Lubavitch Headquarters building in Crown Heights on Kislev 19, Rosh Hashana of Chassidism.
Members who attended included rabbis Yossi Friedman, Dovid Olidort, Avraham Holtzberg, Mendel Laine, Yirmy Berkowitz and Avraham Dovid Weisfish.
Also present were rabbi Eli Matusof and Gavriel Schapiro of the Otzer Hachassidim department who presented the new edition of Biurei HaZohar.
Among the decisions were the printing of two more volumes of the Biurei Hazohar with explanations of the Alter Rebbe, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi (1745-1812).
While they agreed upon printing Chassidus books with larger and brighter fonts with side notes, Matusof says not just any upgrades or changes will be accepted.
“The main focus was not to make changes from the original ‘hearos’ of the Rebbe,” he told COLlive.com.
Kehot, the publishing house of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement established in 1942, is the world’s largest publisher of Jewish literature.
As Jewish publishing companies fill the book market, Kehot has been faithful to its mission, printing to date over 100 million volumes of Chabad Chassidus and tradition in many languages.
We learned that it is very special to learn Tanya everyday, especially in Hebrew. But for those who are not well versed in Hebrew, may we request to provide nekudot on the Hebrew text please. So that even though one can not fully comprehend the Hebrew text it is still very helpful to the soul to read Tanya in Hebrew.
