Four years ago, The Jean Schottenstein Oryah Institute announced its goal to create a seminary where young Lubavitch women have the opportunity to utilize the tools of Chassidus to discover their roles as the next generation of leaders.
Today, they have catered to over 120 girls, completed over 3000+ hours of Torah learning, spent over 200+ hours on the road exploring Eretz Yisrael, and most importantly, built a community of empowered women! They are constantly striving to level up that goal.
With every year comes greater aspirations, and they are constantly working and innovating for the betterment of our girls. It’s all thanks to the generosity of the JSOI community who have supported the school by sending their daughters, donating money, and constantly believing in the power of the next generation, that have made this all possible.
The Jean Schottenstein Oryah Institute, named after Mrs. Jean Schottenstein, was started with the generous support of Mr. David & Eda Schottenstein. It was their belief in empowering young women to make a difference that paved the road for this school.
JSOI believes in the importance of a seminary year to provide young Chabad women with a year of inspiration to strengthen their commitment to Yiddishkeit, Am Yisrael, and Eretz Yisrael. Their robust program offers a full schedule of classes with top tier teachers, Shabbatons, trips throughout Israel, numerous volunteer opportunities, and many enriching programs. New to their program, they have initiated a new Shlucha program, which invites girls, post seminary, to spend another year learning and to serve as Shluchos and role models for the seminary students.
As JSOI completes its third CHAZAKAH year, they turn to our community for support in continuing their work. As a new start-up, the operating costs are still greater than the tuition income. Your donation will go directly to assisting in those start up costs as well as enabling the opportunity for scholarships for future students.
In the words of our Rebbe, “It is that no sacrifice should be too great in our efforts in the cause of Chinuch, especially the education and upbringing of the younger generation.” By partnering with JSOI you not only give to the girls of today, but your gift will keep giving to our grandaughters, and bezh our great-granddaughters!
