Be Part of a Ground-Breaking Series! The Translation of the Alter Rebbe’s Shulchan Aruch Reaches its Finishing Stages!
Each one us now has a unique opportunity to become part of a breakthrough in Jewish publishing.
Several years ago, Sichos in English opened up the Alter Rebbe’s Shulchan Aruch to English readers with a translation that has been universally acclaimed for its halachic accuracy, readability, insightful footnotes, and beautiful and innovative design.
Suitable as a basis for shiurim, individual study, and chavrusa learning, the text presents a flowing translation of the Alter Rebbe’s text, practical guidance on how the laws are applied as actual halachah, references to the Rebbe’s insights into the text, and a comprehensive subject index.
Envisioned as a 12-volume set, 8 volumes are already available, the 9th has been sent to print. The 10th is in final stages of editing and work has begun on the 11th and 12th.
“Until now, we didn’t want to offer people a set,” explained Yonah Avtzon, director of Sichos in English. “People don’t want promises. They want to see books. Now, we can offer them books and very soon, they will have a full set.”
The project was initiated and carried to its present stage due to a grant from two celebrated patrons of Torah scholarship, Rabbis Mordechai and Moshe Aharon Weiss of California, but for the set to become a reality, the participation of all those who hold the Alter Rebbe’s teachings dear is necessary. By ordering your set, not only do you gain a treasured resource for your home, you make it possible for others to benefit from this text in the future.

You opened up a whole new world to me. My friends and i are learning from this Shulchan Aruch 6 days a week on the phone.
what mistake on the shaar blatt are you talking about?
It’s a real shame that Sichos in English didn’t think this through. Here they are selling Shulchan Aruch, and they make such an obvious mistake on the Shar Blatt. There are a few ways this can be fixed, however in the current structure, based on Piskei Dinim Tzemach Tzedek, people aren’t allowed to collect the Sforim until they pay the difference, since it’s not considered after the fact until they received it, so Mechilo doesn’t work yet. There’s still time to avoid this serious Aveiro.
i am not here to be the amalek. but why?! the concept of preordering and through which getting it for cheaper is RIBBIS these are not my words! look yourself in the alter rebbes shulcan aruch in hilchos ribbis, halacha כג now don’t tell me “well everyone does it”. that does not give you the right to go against halacha! and shall you ask well we need the money for the printing so what do we do? to this ill tell you that there are ways around it, (one of which that the seller reserves the right to withdraw on… Read more »
