The National Jewish Retreat, the flagship event of the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute (JLI), will take place August 13–17 (י״ט–כ״ג מנחם אב) at the historic Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C.
Now in its 19th year, the Retreat offers five days of immersive Jewish learning, inspiration, and connection to Torah, Chassidus, and the Rebbe’s vision. Every year, Shluchim bring members of their communities—many of whom describe the experience as truly transformative.
With the active assistance of Rabbi Levi Shemtov of American Friends of Lubavitch (Chabad), this year’s program will feature exclusive appearances by Jewish figures with a front-row seat to national politics and public affairs—offering a level of access unique to Washington, D.C.
There are already over 35 program highlights confirmed, with more being added weekly. Sessions will cover Jewish thought, contemporary issues, personal growth, and practical Chassidus. Early registration trends point to one of the largest Retreats in JLI history.
The Omni Shoreham Hotel, a storied venue that has hosted presidents and global events, will serve as the backdrop for this year’s gathering.
