A Jewish woman was walking on the corner of Albany Avenue and Empire Blvd in Crown Heights on Tuesday morning when she was attacked by a man who threatened her and hurled anti-Semitic expletives at her.
The woman had just dropped off her child, when she was approached by a black man who police say “has a long and current history of being emotionally disturbed.”
The man picked up a metal garbage-can, threatening to hit her with it, while stating “get out of my way you [expletive] Jew.”
After a brief canvass with the victim, the perp was found by police and positively ID’d.
He was arrested for a hate crime of menacing, police said.
The hate crimes unit was notified and will be further investigating the incident.
Perhaps from recently opened homeless shelters in our neighborhood?the govt. Knew of these dangers but still went ahead with them.now they have to take responsibility for it.
Don’t kid yourself, this crime has been a product of this area well before the shelters. The homeless shelters with drug addicts which were inexplicably placed directly into a residential neighborhood populated by many school children by elected officials, just made it worse.
They enjoy walking our safe streets, our people who are pleasant and mind their own business, a volunteer emergency service that has helped many of them over the years, they enjoy neighbors who do not steal from them, who don’t call them names, or harass them while they are walking down the street- even though we’ve put up with more than any other community I’ve ever heard of. Most of these incidents are committed by people called EDP’s
The subject line, and all is really misleading and unfavorable.
Why are they attacking Jews and not other groups? It it certainly antisemitism inspired by the widespread antisemitism in the community.
