Chabad House at University of Virginia, run by Rabbi Shlomo and Channa Mayer, hosted an Expo of Jewish Living in the historic Amphitheater of Mr. Jefferson’s University.
The Expo featured interactive displays on Jewish life such as Yiddish, Jewish Holidays, Shabbat, Kosher, Ritual Objects, Jewish names, Prayer, Hebrew, and milestones in a Jew’s life.
Over 200 students participated and had a chance to make their own challah, watch their name being written in Hebrew by Sofer Levi Greenberg, and enjoy a tasty buffet of Jewish fare.
Shlucha Channa Mayer said, “This is the first time we’ve ever tried such an event and it was just amazing. More than 30 students committed to helping and put many long nights into decorating their displays. It was a great show of Jewish pride.”
