Members of the Jewish and Israeli institutions in New York have received Shmura Matzah for their Pesach Seder from Chabad. The organizations include the Jewish Federation of North America, Israeli Consulate, UJA-Federation of New York, Israel Bonds, Israel Mission to the United Nations and The Israel Defense Force offices, (“Mishlachat Habitachon”) in New York.
“This is part of the Rebbe’s activities of helping Jews with Shmurah Matzah,” said Rabbi Shmuel Butman, Director of Lubavitch Youth Organization, Tzeirei Agudas Chabad Hamerkozis.
“Chabad never forgets us and I thank Rabbi Butman for all his work,” said John Ruskay, executive vice president and CEO of the United Jewish Appeal – Federation NY.
Gerrald Silverman, President and CEO of The Jewish Federations of North America, also had warm words for Chabad.
“Wherever I travel, I meet Chabad men doing great work,” he said. “They are an integral part of the Jewish scene, and the world sees their contribution to the Jewish nation.”
Members of the Israel Consulate in New York await the Matzoh eagerly. “It has become a tradition that we very much appreciate and we thank Chabad for being there for us,” said Ido Aharoni, the Consul General of Israel in New York.
