Partners in one of the most prominent immigration firms in the United States have announced a new relationship between their law office and Crown Heights Jewish Community Council.
Leon Wildes, founder and Senior Partner of Wildes and Weinberg, PC, and his son Managing Partner Michael Wildes, former Mayor of Engelwood, NJ, will be providing services to Jewish residents in the Brooklyn neighborhood.
W&W will be working with immigration staff at the Community Council on Kingston Avenue and accepting referrals as necessary at a reduced communal rate.
“It is more important that everyone get proper legal advice before filing immigration papers,” Michael Wildes said at a recent Town Hall Meeting at the Lubavitcher Yeshiva.
“The Federal government is visiting work locations, making sure that religious workers are doing real religious work, ferreting out false applications and increasing enforcement in many other ways, often leading to removal of people from the US,” he noted.
The firm will also be available to respond to emergency calls, said Rabbi Eli Cohen, Executive Director of the Community Council.
