Great responses were heard from a group of Shluchim and key Jewish community members in Montreal who watched a test run of the Exodus moving theater in Montreal.
Under the auspices of the Chai Center, the Living Legacy is hosting the unique show using multimedia presentations along with live actors.
Exodus portrays the story of the Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt as described in the Torah, and allows kids to experience it for themselves.
“It is the first time I ever heard the story of Passover,” said Lisa Mayers, 12, of Royal Vail Public School.
“Our aim is to reach every Jewish child in Montreal, no matter which school they maybe enrolled in,” proclaimed Rabbi Dovid Weinbaum, director of Exodus.
His unlikely ambition is becoming more realistic.
Already more than 6,000 people have already reserved tickets, and the few remaining spots are filling up quickly as the show continues to make waves in the Montreal community.
After an emotional meeting with David of Ile Des Soeur (the only Jewish child in his school) Living Legacy founder and director, Rabbi Pinny Gniwisch, stated “the entire show was worth the hard work, just to touch that one special Neshama (soul).”
Exodus would like to offer special thanks to Dovid Russ and Shloimie Lison for their dedicated support, as well as the team of talented actors: Peretz Lockshin, Ari Cidana, Ruvi Shapiro, Yony Chanowitz and Moshie Minshky.
Exodus has been open since March 3rd and will close its doors on March 25th. Exodus will be opening its doors for public shows on Sunday, March 14 and March 21. In order to be guaranteed a ticket, participants are urged to book in advance at exodusmontreal.com

i went to the show. Awesome. whos that guy who played the jew in the beginning and the monkey in the middle and the jew at the end? the way he shouted, “Moses, pharoah is coming! do something!”, made the butterflies in my stomach flutter like butter! He really is the bees knees! When i heard the part about how all the jews were were like one man with one heart, i couldn’t help but look directly at him and smile. Everyone was great, but we was most excellent and just plain righteous. -from the man behind the story with… Read more »
