The IDF announced the death of 4 additional soldiers killed amidst the fighting in Gaza, bringing the IDF’s ground operation death toll to 119 and 448 since October 7th.
The soldiers were identified as
Major (res.) Elisha Levinshtern, 38, a soldier in the 8104th Battalion, killed Wednesday in battle in southern Gaza.
Staff-Sergeant-Major Tomer Shlomo Myara, 28, from Netanya, of the 70th Battalion, was killed fighting in southern Gaza on Friday.
Sergeant Oz Shmuel Aradi, 19, a soldier in the 603rd Engineering Battalion, killed in battle in southern Gaza.
Sgt. First Class (res.) Shay Uriel Pizem, 23, a tank commander in the 401st Armored Brigade’s 9th Battalion, from Ein HaNatziv.
Additionally, the IDF says 4 soldiers were seriously injured during fighting in the Gaza Strip.
The IDF also announced on Friday morning that IDF forces recovered the bodies of Cpl. Nik Beizer, 19, and Sgt. Ron Sherman, 19, in the Gaza Strip.
Their families were notified of their deaths earlier on Friday morning after an identification process was carried out by medical officials and the military Rabbanut.
Beizer, from Be’er Sheva, and Sherman, from Lehavim, a town in southern Israel, were both abducted from their army bases near the Gaza border.
Ron’s father, Dr. Alex Sherman, waged a battle to return his son, who holds dual Israeli-Argentine citizenship. He was interviewed by media outlets in Spain and spoke with the president of Argentina.
Ron suffered from severe asthma and used an inhaler. His parents tried, to no avail, to send his inhaler and medication to him, knowing he couldn’t survive without it.
The body of hostage, Elia Toledano, 28, was recovered by the IDF on Thursday night.
The IDF also announced that 42-year-old Tal Chaimi and 21-year-old Joshua Mollel were both murdered by Hamas terrorists after being kidnapped from southern Israel and taken into Gaza on October 7. Mollel was a Tanzanian agricultural student who had arrived in Israel only two weeks before the October 7 massacre. Both of their bodies are still in the hands of Hamas.
