We all want to be part of the action. We have FOMO. But with the kinus this year, if you are still waiting to find yourself on the guest list, you can still be part of the action.
For Chabad shluchim, who must run an entire community on a shoestring budget, just a couple extra dollars can be the difference between progress and peril. With the extra few dollars, shluchim (who already make big sacrifices in the name of shlichus) will not have to choose between new winter coats for their children or a lively, uplifting Shabbos event – and yes, that is a real-world example.
For the working class, we all have no problem spending a regular $4 to $7 on a daily cup of coffee. $1 is all it takes, and it will not break the bank.
Imagine this: You’re in shul, and tzedakah collectors are making their rounds. They ask you for a dollar – but you’ve already donated a dollar to a Chabad house – somewhere around the world. You feel confident that your money has gone to support communities and institutions on the front lines.
Quick, automatic, and easy, DollarDaily.org streamlines shlichus, making it simpler than ever to partner with shluchim daily in a meaningful way, all while giving Jews worldwide the resources their communities need to thrive.
Dollar Daily has gained hundreds of new subscribers and, with their help, gives six hundred dollars to another Chabad house every single day. Each of these generous individuals pledges a small sum – just a dollar a day or 5 or 10$. Whatever works. A single dollar may not be substantial, but Dollar Daily’s subscribers have raised an impressive $100,000 in a single year. That was all from people giving $1.
The founder of DollarDaily.org – R’ Yosef Shidler – is a successful businessman in his own right. He runs the acclaimed CJ Studios photography business with his wife Sarah, is the editor of the engaging, educational, and inspirational children’s book series, Amazing Miracle Stories for Kids, and is an active member of Lakewood’s Chabad community.
“I know so many Shluchim, stranded in the middle of nowhere, who are struggling for food and funds to clothe their children,” says Shidler. “Some Chabad houses may hold a successful fundraiser once or twice a year, but there’s always a point when they’re strapped for funds. Also, as a businessman, I would get 20 calls a month from shluchim all expecting me to be their savior. My $18 and 36 donation didn’t seem to be helping much. I am no George Rohr. How much can one person do.”
It inspired DollarDaily.org. The $32 monthly charge is given directly to the Shluchim daily on the donor’s behalf. The remaining funds cover the processing, totaling around $20 a year. Any surplus, if it exists, is given directly to Shluchim. Yad Lashach will occasionally send extra money when the situation calls for it.
Subscribers enjoy full transparency during the process. The full list of Chabad centers receiving funds is publicly posted here at https://dollardaily.org/calendar.php. Your full Dollar is going to another Chabad center daily, and you know where it’s going.
Shlucha Rochel Katz, who works at the Aleph Institute, supporting prisoners and military personnel, knows firsthand the impact this money can have. “As a fellow Shlucha, this cause spoke to me. I know there are times that feel challenging, and receiving a gift like this would mean a lot to many Shluchim.”
For most Jews, Chabad houses have become something you can rely on. No matter where in the world they visit, vacation, work, or settle down, Chabad is always there, improving access to kosher food, minyanim, and mikvahs.
One dollar might not seem like much, but its impact is huge. If 5000 people agree to donate a dollar a day, $5000 will be available for the next Chabad house in need of funds. Our service makes being part of shlichus a breeze, but, in truth, Dollar Daily is about much more than that. Chabad houses help unite Jews the world over, all while spreading the mission of Ahavas Yisrael. For just a dollar a day, anyone can take part in this world-changing mitzvah. It’s less than that cup of coffee. You got this.

I have a better idea. Give a dollar a day (or more) to our local mosdos. Our children’s schools, yeshivos, shuls, hatzala, and other very worthy local organizations. It’s time we invest in our community, our children, our future.
That’s a great idea, but the article is a suggestion for those that specifically want to join the efforts of The Shluchim!
However, it’s not nice to come over to an article written about one cause and in the comment section suggest “let’s not give to this cause, instead – Everyone! I have a better idea of where you should give to!”
No one is stopping you from writing your own article about the local mosdos but don’t come here and try take away money from the Rebbes dear shluchim
It’s not an original idea, it’s Shulchon Aruch
We need more shlichus in crown heights and in other chabad areas because you can’t assume that chabad bt’s and people who went through chabad schools don’t need the shlichus.
But that shouldn’t mean taking away from your idea and you shouldn’t mean taking away from this idea
people who are not on official “shlichus” don’t need to feel “left out” nor feel the need to participate in helping shluchim to not have this feeling of being “left out” the importance of helping shluchim notwithstanding, everyone can and should be a shliach wherever they are, you don’t need to be at the kinnus to be a “shliach” the meshaleach is the same for all of us the kinnus is for “official shluchim” who do amazing things, and many shluchim have mesirus nefesh of a whole other level to be where they are on shlichus, but they are not… Read more »
