Last night hundreds of chassidim gathered by the Ohel to participate in a special program organized by Vaad Ohr Vchom marking thirty years to the Yartzeit-Hillulah of the Rebbetzin.
Several buses full of bocherim came in to the event and to the spend these special hours in the Rebbe’s Daled Amos from 770, Oholei Torah, Morristown and Baltimore.
Following Maariv by the Rebbe’s Ohel a special shiur was given Rabbi Yisroel Shimon Kalmanson of Vaad Hanochos Lahak in the sicha of Shabbos Parshas Yisro, 22 Shevat, 5740 which is the only time the Rebbe farbrenged on the date of Chof-Beis Shevat before the Histalkus of the Rebbetzin.
In this sicha the Rebbe spoke about the special new era beginning from the thirtieth Yartzeit of the Previous Rebbe and the need to strengthen our Hiskashrus to the Rebbe which is expressed first and foremost by visiting and writing in to the Ohel.
This sicha finds special relevance today standing thirty years from Chof-Beis Shevat at a Farbrengen held by the Ohel.
Afterwards the attention was directed to the video screen seeing clips of sichas and the happenings by the Rebbe from the time of the Rebbetzin’s Histalkus and Chof-Beis Shevat in subsequent years.
At 8:00 the Farbrengen began with the MC being Rabbi Oshi Deren, shliach of the Rebbe in Capetown, South Africa who spoke about the Rebbetzin’s historic statement during the court case over the Seforim which determined the victory of the case for the good of Agudas Chassidei Chabad. The Rebbetzin then had stated that “The Rebbe and the seforim belong to the Chassidim” and this point was demonstrated in the Rebbetzin’s remark on several occasions how all Chassidim are the Rebbe and the Rebbetzin’s children.
The first speaker Rabbi Shais Taub, in house scholar of Chabad of the Five Town’s spoke in his special eloquent style elaborating on the Rebbe’s sicha of Shabbos Parshas Toldos 5749 where he spoke about how the role of the Rebbetzin’s is similar to that of the Imahos who only through them where the Avos able to achieve what they did. So too, the Rebbe explained, the Rebbetzin’s plaid this important role in the Nsius.
Rabbi Yisroel Shmotkin, head shliach of the state of Milwaukee and a chaver of Agudas Chassidei Chabad, spoke of the important lessons that can before learnt from the Rebbetzin who’s whole life was one of Mesirus Nefesh for the Rebbe and the Chassidim.
Informal farbrengens continued late into the night with among others Rabbi Yehudah Weg, head shliach in Oklahoma, Rabbi Yisroel Deren, head shliach of Connecticut and Rabbi Sholom Ber Levitin, head shliach of Washington.
